Men's Basketball Defeats Defending Champions 62-60

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Ohio Christian enjoyed a landmark victory on Saturday afternoon, knocking off the defending NCCAA Champions and #1 ranked Grace Bible College.  The win came less than 24 hours after OCU had defeated #3 ranked Kuyper College.

OCU came out with a quick start and took a 25-20 lead with 5 minutes remaining in the first half.  Grace responded like a champion with a 16-4 run to close the half and take a 36-29 lead heading into halftime.

Ohio Christian stormed back in the 2nd half to pull within two points at the ten minute mark.  OCU rallied and built a 4 point lead with 3 minutes remaining, capped off by a Wesley Russell to Kenny Cooper alley-oop dunk in transition.

Grace came back to within two points at 62-60 and had the ball under the basket with 1 second remaining.  The Tigers inbounded the ball and shot a fadeaway jumper from 18 feet that was well off the mark as the final horn sounded.

The Trailblazers were presented the tournament championship trophy following the game and Wesley Russell and Devyn Benson were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

OCU moves to 3-1 on the season and will open up at home on Tuesday night against NAIA #4 ranked Indiana Wesleyan.
