Men's Basketball Releases 2011-12 Schedule

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU men's basketball program has released their 2011-12 season schedule.  The Blazers are coming off a successful 2010-11 season where they won the Mid-East Region for the 2nd straight year.  OCU advanced to the NCCAA National Tournament where they finished in 5th place nationally.

The schedule this year features key non-conference matchups against recent NCAA Division II affiliates Walsh University and Malone University.  Walsh University finished the regular season last year ranked #1 in the NAIA National Poll.  The Trailblazers will also be taking on NAIA members Indiana Wesleyan University and Siena Heights University.  OCU will get battle tested early on the road as they participate in the Valley Forge Christian College Classic, the Malone University Tipoff Classic, and the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Tournament all in the opening four weeks of the season.

The conference and region schedule features rivalry games against Kentucky Christian University, Valor Christian College, and UC-Clermont.  OCU defeated Kentucky Christian to win the Region Championship last year to advance to the National Tournament.  Ohio Christian came up short in the OCAC Conference Championship game last season where they fell in a close game to UC-Clermont and will look to avenge that loss this year.

The national spotlight will be shining on Circleville, Ohio in early 2012 as OCU will be taking on defending NCCAA National Champion Grace Bible College as Grace comes to town on January 3rd.  This matchup will feature two powerhouse teams that have finished in the Top 5 nationally over the last three seasons.
