Men's Basketball Wins 2013 Mid-East Region Championship

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU Trailblazers capped off the 2013 Mid-East Regional Tournament with a 81-65 victory over longtime rival, Kentucky Christian University in the Regional Championship.
The win gives OCU an automic bid in the NCCAA National Championship Tournament in Springfield, Missouri.
The Trailblazers built a 40-28 lead in the first half behind a balanced effort on both ends of the floor. OCU pushed the lead to as many as 20 points in the second half behind the strong effort of Mid-East Region Player of the Year, Wesley Russell, who tossed in a game high 25 points while also grabbing 9 rebounds.
James Nelson tallied 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots in the victory. Evan Mills added 9 points for the Trailblazers.
OCU shot 31 of 58 from the field for 53.4%. The Trailblazers won the battle of boards 33 to 28.
Ohio Christian will now await word from the NCCAA on Selection Sunday for National Tournament seeding. OCU is currently 24-8 on the season and 19-0 against NCCAA Division II competition.
