OCU Finishes Regular Season Undefeated in NCCAA Play with Win on Senior Day

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Ohio Christian overcame a valiant effort by Johnson University on Saturday afternoon as the Blazers came away with a 74-60 win on Senior Day.  

The win was historic as OCU wrapped up the regular season with a perfect record of 17-0 in NCCAA Division II play.  OCU also wrapped up the #1 seed in the Mid-East Regional Tournament as the Blazers finish the regular season at 10-0 in the region.

OCU honored seniors James Nelson and Milen Kostov at halftime and both seniors made significant contributions in the win.  James Nelson scored a team high 19 points while also grabbing 13 rebounds.  Milen Kostov went 3 of 5 from the field for 6 points.  Wesley Russell added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the Trailblazers.

The Trailblazers outrebounded Johnson 40-32 in the game and shot a blistering 16 of 19 from the charity stripe for 84.2%.  OCU led by as many as 18 points in the game and never trailed.  Johnson was led by Bowen who scored a game high 27 points to keep the visitors within arms reach.

OCU is back in action on Friday night at 8:00 PM in the Mid-East Regional Tournament.  They will take on the winner of the Boyce College vs Johnson University game that is played on Thursday night.
