OCU Lands Transfer Mike Romesburg from Marysville

MARYSVILLE, OH - Head Coach Tony Stockman is pleased to announce that Mike Romesburg is the latest addition to the OCU Men's Basketball program.  The 6'6" forward made his decision to transfer to Ohio Christian this week where he will be joining his younger brother Steve, who signed with OCU back in March.

Romesburg is a 2010 graduate of Marysville High School.  At Marysville, he played for head coach and former MVNU All-American, Kenny Chaffin.  Romesburg enjoyed a strong senior season in 2010, posting career highs of 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.  Mike was honored by Coach Chaffin as the Team MVP following the season.

For his efforts on the hardwood as a senior, Romesburg was selected as a 2nd Team Ohio Capital Conference Selection.  He also received All-District honors in Central Ohio in 2010.

Upon graduation, Mike played one season at NCAA Muskingum University.  As a freshman, he worked his way into the starting lineup near the end of the season.  In three straight starts against Mount Union, Heidelberg, and Marietta he posted averages of 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, a 1.0 block per game.

"Mike is a highly skilled forward with great court presence," remarked OCU Head Coach Tony Stockman.  "He is very versatile for his size and we expect him to be a very tough matchup for our opponents."

Romesburg is looking forward to playing at OCU.  "I am excited to be a part of this team," commented Romesburg.  "It is a great opportunity to play with my brother and contribute in whatever way possible."

Romesburg will be a Teacher Education Major under the direction of Dr. Valerie Wilson at OCU and will graduate in 2015.  Romesburg will be joining an OCU team that is looking to repeat as NCCAA National Champions in 2013-14.  The Trailblazers tipoff their season in Cincinnati in early November.
