OCU Men Win Home Opener 89-63

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU men's basketball team moved to 2-1 on the season with an 89-63 win over the Georgetown College reserves on Friday night.  After leading 25-21 ten minutes into the contest, the Trilblazers railled to push the lead 44-33 heading into halftime.

A 6-0 run by the Blazers, capped off by a Kenny Cooper slam dunk pushed the lead to 15 in the 2nd half.  OCU would rally again and would go on to lead by as many as 29 points before cruising to the 89-63 win.  

OCU was led defensively by James Nelson who had 8 blocked shots and was a force in the middle.  Tirrell Cumberland led the Blazers offense with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting.  Mo Fall made a big contribution with 16 points on 8 of 12 shooting, while also adding 8 rebounds.  Wesley Russell tallied 15 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds for OCU.  Josh Delph had his best performance of the young season as he tossed in 14 points.  Mike Farrell added 10 points for the Trailblazers in the win.

OCU is back in action on Monday when they head to Indiana Wesleyan University to take on the NAIA #2 ranked Wildcats in Marion, Indiana.  The game is set for a 7:00PM tip.
