OCU Wraps Up OCAC Schedule with 111-87 Win at Southern State

HILLSBORO, OH - The OCU men's basketball team wrapped up the OCAC regular season schedule on Monday night with a lopsided 111-87 victory over the host Patriots of Southern State.

OCU came out gunning early on in the first half as they went up 30-13 in the opening ten minutes of the game.  Wesley Russell, Delorean Glanton, and Tirrell Cumberland combined to hit their first 11 shots of the game to pace the Blazers effort early on.  OCU took a 51-27 lead in the locker room at the half.

The Trailblazers used a deep rotation in the second half and kept a 20 point lead throughout.  James Nelson came off the bench to make 5 consecutive baskets as the 6'8" junior gave OCU a boost with powerful dunks and strong interior play.  Ohio Christian coasted to a 111-87 win to sweep the season series with Southern State.

OCU was led by Mo Fall who tallied 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Delorean Glanton put up 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting.  James Nelson tallied 19 points and 7 boards for the Blazers.  Tirrell Cumberland tossed in 17 points while shooting 3 of 6 from downtown.  Wesley Russell recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.

Ohio Christian (20-9, 9-0) will now prepare for the OCAC tournament this weekend.  The tournament tips off on Thursday, but with the win at Southern State on Monday, the Blazers will receive a first round bye and will play on Friday.
