Pickerington North Standout Evan Mills Inks with OCU
CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Pickerington North standout Forward Evan Mills has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Ohio Christian University. Mills played under head coach Pete Liptrap. Under the direction of Coach Liptrap, Mills helped lead Pickerington North to a 21-2 record in 2011 and a share of the Ohio Capital Conference championship.
Mills has a unique skill set as a 6'5" forward that enables him to play or defend nearly every position on the floor. "He can really handle the basketball like a guard and shoot from the outside very well. He is just a natural scorer," said head coach Tony Stockman. "But he is also strong on the boards and blocks shots so he will make an impact on both ends of the floor."
Mills enjoyed a very strong 2011-12 season. He posted averages of 17.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. He comes to OCU and plans to major in Business Management.
"We started recruiting Evan last summer and the timing of everything has worked out just right to get him to OCU," said recruiting coordinator Jamey Batten. "Evan is a class act as a young man and carries himself with a professional demeanor. We expect him to make a big impact immediately at Ohio Christian."
Mills joins a talented recruiting class and group of returning players that will be pursuing the programs first national championship. OCU reached the Final Four and finished in 3rd place at the NCCAA National Tournament in 2012.
