Hot Streak Continues with 2-0 Win Over Bluffton

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Blazers continued their winning ways on Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 win over NCAA affiliate, Bluffton University.  The win is the 4th straight for OCU who now stands at 4-1 on the season.  Ohio Christian has outscored opponents 19-1 during the course of their current winning streak.

The first half against Bluffton proved to be a defensive struggle as both teams battled for possession and were unable to score a goal.  OCU went into the intermission tied with Bluffton with the score 0-0.

The second half proved to be more dramatic as both teams were tied after 65 minutes of play.  In the 66th minute that all changed when Dexter Chapman setup Dave Blamo for the first score of the game to give OCU a 1-0 advantage.  Ohio Christian continued to attack and found the back of the net one more time in the 75th minute as OCU sophomore Zach Sturm setup Dave Blamo for his 2nd goal of the game to extend the lead to 2-0.

The OCU defense would hold strong the rest of the way to secure their 3rd shutout in a row as OCU went on to win 2-0.  The OCU offense out shot Bluffton 18-3 in the contest.  The win is the first NCAA win for OCU in men's soccer.  The Trailblazer defense has yet to surrender a 2nd half goal this season.

"We came out strong today and did a great job of playing with intensity for 90 minutes," said head coach Josh Murton.  "Anthony Delong played another great game for us and his leadership has been huge for this team.  Offensively, Dave Blamo is playing at a very high level right now.  His hard work and smart play are leading to quality shots and lots of goals."

OCU is back in action on Friday when they take on Mid-East Region rival Crown College from Powell, Tennessee.  The contest is scheduled for a 5:00PM start.
