Men's Soccer Gets Edged Out by Mt. Vernon 2-0

MT. VERNON, OH - The Trailblazers headed north to take on NAIA affiliate, Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Wednesday night.  The host Cougars took a 1-0 advantage in the 34th minute and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

The Trailblazers tried to rally back in the 2nd half but struggled to find their rhythm and put together a consistent offensive threat.  OCU goaltender Steven Fabian kept the game close with a pair of amazing saves to keep the Traiblazers within arms reach.

Despite a strong defensive showing from the Trailblazers, Mount Vernon added a second goal to take a 2-0 advantage in the 2nd half.  The OCU offense had two decent looks on goal in the final five minutes but were unable to find the back of the net.

The host Cougars held a 14-6 shot advantage in the contest.  Mount Vernon had 9 corner kicks compared to 2 for Ohio Christian.

OCU will now prepare to face the defending NCCAA National Champions on Friday afternoon when Moody Bible from Chicago rolls into town.  The game is set for a 3:00 PM start.
