Men's Soccer sign another Delong

The men's soccer program has its first brother tandem in recent history with signing Alex Delong from local school Teays Valley.  Alex is the brother of Anthony who was seen in the starting line up through out last season.  Both played together in high school and currently in club soccer.

In 2009, Alex helped Teays Valley win their first Mid-State League title in school history along side Coach Mark Casperson, OCU Assistant Coach in 2008.  Alex was named Honorable mention in the Mid-State league and scored 2 goals with 8 assists in the 2009 campaign.  He scored 4 goals and 17 assists in his career at Teays Valley which lands him at 7th all-time in school history.  "Alex is going to be an offensive kick for us.  He is very competitive and demands a lot from himself and his team mates.  I coached him in club and high school and I am excited to see what he will bring to the table," mention Coach Murton.

Alex is the 3rd to sign with OCU for the 2010 campaign in what looks to be a solid recruiting class.  "We will bring another solid group to the table this season.  Even though we lose Eman, I think we will be a deeper team," added Coach Murton.

OCU was the Cinderella story of 2009 finishing 17-6-1 which earned them 3rd in the nation.  Not bad for a team 1-16-0 two years prior.  "We look to build on this.  3rd place is just that, 3rd place.  We want to be number 1 and we are making the moves to go after that," concluded Murton.
