KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA - The OCU men's soccer team capped off a memorable season with a 4th place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament. OCU defeated Dallas Christian 7-1 in round 1. In the semifinals, OCU took Northland International to penalty kicks but came up short in a heartbreaking turn of events. OCU then lost a close contest to Clearwater Christian in the 3rd place game to take 4th nationally. OCU ended the tournament with a 1-1-1 record.
The OCU men finish with the schools best record at 17-4-2 beating the 2009 season's record of 17-6-1. This is the 3rd year in a row OCU has been ranked in the top 4 in the nation. The 2011 season also marked the best defensive season in school history giving up only 17 goals which amounted to only .7 goals per game. The season also marked the second best offensive output in school history scoring 70 goals, amounting to 3.0 goals per game.
The NCCAA will release the All-American's in December. OCU did have 2 players named to the 2011 All-Tournament Team in Steven Fabian and Emanuel Harris.
