Tale of Two Halves vs #2 Northland

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Ohio Christian headed north to Grand Rapids over the weekend to take on #2 ranked Northland International University.  Both teams came into the game having to lost to Moody by 1 goal.

The 3rd ranked Blazers showed well in the first half as senior Emanuel Harris found the back of the net to put Ohio on the board.  The goal was set up beautifully by Dave Blamo and Luis Aguirre.  Northland tallied a goal of their own in the first half as both teams went into the intermission knotted up at 1-1.

The second half was a different story as Northland capitalized off of a poor ball clearance from OCU to score and take a 2-1 lead.  The Blazers just missed on a 30 yard free kick that would have tied the score in the 2nd half.  Northland would make the Blazers pay as they tallied 4 straight goals in the final 30 minutes to push the score to 6-1.

"We just got out worked in the second half," commented OCU Head Coach Josh Murton.  "We didn't keep up the intensity down the stretch so we are disappointed in how we finished but we still know that we are one of the top teams in the nation. We just need to chalk it up to our 3 freshmen and 4 sophomores who started as a great learning experience."
