Top Ranked OCU Wins 4th Straight by Shutout

BECKLEY, WV - The top ranked Trailblazers headed to West Virginia over the weekend to take on Mid-East Region rival Appalachian Bible College and came away with a 1-0 victory.  Jimmy Galvan scored the only goal OCU would need as he found the back of the net in the 35th minute off of the assist from Dave Blamo.  The goal was the 8th on the year for Galvan.  The assist by Blamo was his 15th of the season.

The shutout win was the 4th straight victory for OCU and the 4th straight shutout win.  Ohio Christian enjoyed an 18-2 shooting advantage over the Warriors of Appalachian.

"I felt we played pretty well today," said head coach Josh Murton.  "We held possession for about 90% of the game and did have a few opportunities where we just didn't finish, but overall we played well.  Now it is time to get ready and focus on Anderson University."

Steve Fabian had another standout performance in goal for OCU.  His shutout against Appalachian gives him 8 shutouts on the season, a new school record.  OCU is now 26-0-0 against Mid-East Region teams dating back to 2009.  This season the Trailblazers have outscored Mid-East Region teams 21-0.  The win puts OCU at 10-2-1 overall on the season.  The #1 ranked Blazers are back in action on Wednesday, October 12th when they take on Anderson University at Bloom Carroll High School.  The match is scheduled for 7:00PM.
