2012 OCU Athletic Award Winners

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU Athletic Department honored four special seniors at the 2012 OCU Senior Awards Night.  Max Ray from the men's baseball team was awarded the Traiblazers Award for athletic performance and Christian character.  His teammate, Ronnie Goodwin was awarded the inaugural Lattimer Sports Ministry Award for his commitment to Christian service and ministry outreach.  Both Goodwin and Ray were cornerstones of OCU baseball teams that won three straight Mid-East Region titles, earning NCCAA World Series bids in all three seasons.

MacKenna Jennings was honored as the 2012 Female Athlete of the Year.  Jennings led the team in wins, K's, batting average, rbi's, and home runs.  She was also selected as Mid-East Region Pitcher of the Year.  She helped lead the Blazers to a record 18 win season.

Tirrell Cumberland was selected as the 2012 Male Athlete of the Year.  Cumberland was honored as a 1st Team NCCAA All-American this past season.  Cumberland became a member of the OCU 1,000 point club after just two seasons of play.  He led OCU to a 27-10 record and first ever Final Four appearance.
