Blazers Move to 19-3
The Trailblazers move to 19 and 3 with a win over Southern State by a score of 93 to 69. The team is now 8 and 0 in the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference and could be the number one seed if they win against World Harvest Bible College on Friday. The Blazers had their hands full in Southern's shooting guard Tirrell Cumberland. Tirrell came into tonight's game averaging 35 points a game.
Blazers Win 2 In Regional Play
The team was back into regional play on Friday night against Crown College of Knoxville, TN. Crown started big and physical in the first few minutes of the game but their inexperience began to show as OCU pressured the ball at every position. The Trailblazer caused Crown to turn the ball over 38 times, a season record, which led the team to an 86 to 42 win.
Blazers Win at Home
The Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University were home Tuesday night against Ohio State University Mansfield. The team moves to 16 and 3 with a score of 101 to 55. "The first game between these two schools was up and down the floor with a final score of 130 to 96. We slowed the game down and played good half court defense tonight keeping them from getting into a fast pace game.
Blazers Win Two on the Road
After the loss to Kentucky Christian University last Tuesday night, the Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University had something to prove when they hit the road Friday and Saturday. The first stop was in Louisville, Kentucky Friday night against Boyce College. The Blazers started with a lot of ball pressure and never slowed down as they beat Boyce with a score of 94 to 50.
Trailblazers Lose Heartbreaker to KCU 71 to 75
The number three ranked Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University were on the road Tuesday night to take on number 7 ranked rivals Kentucky Christian University. "This is the most anticipated game of the year for our students, staff and players.
#3 Blazers Move to 12-2 with Road Win
The number three Ohio Christian University Trailblazers move to 12 and 2 with a road win over Ohio State University Mansfield 130 to 94. "Mansfield was small but quick" said OCU Coach Christopher. They pressed the whole game which in turn made us get up and down the floor a lot. This was the first game back from Christmas break and was good for the guys to get out and run.
Blazers Look To Second Half of Season
With a light schedule going into Christmas break, one of the toughest tasks for Ohio Christian men's basketball coach Curtis Christopher has been keeping the Trailblazers focused.
"Without our student section, which is very good to help fire our kids up for these type of games, it is a little hard for us to get them up," Christopher said.
Blazers Tally Another Win
The Men's basketball team of Ohio Christian University was at home tonight against Ohio University Zanesville. The students have all gone home for Christmas but that did not stop the Trailblazers from taking care of business in a quiet gymnasium defeating OU Zanesville 89 to 58.
Blazers 2-0 In Regional Play
The Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University move to 9 and 2 on Saturday with a win against Freewill Baptist College 92 to 69. The team is now 2 and 0 in the NCCAA Mid East region. Senior Guard Stefan Vasiloff went 7 for 9 from the three point line finishing with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. "Stefan has been very good from behind the ark this year.
Blazers Open Mid-East Region with Win
The Ohio University Trailblazers opened the mid east regional league play tonight with a win against Boyce College 114 to 45. The Trailblazers now 8 and 2 started strong tonight and ended strong. They shot 25 for 38 from the three point line at 62 percent. They had a season record 25 steals on the night and 8 blocked shots.
