Ohio Christian Women's Volleyball lost to Clark State Community College 22-25, 17-25, 20-25. "We had really good attitudes tonight and this helped our desire," said Head Coach Wes Brothers.
Lady Trailblazers lost to Free Will Baptist Bible College 25-16, 22-25, 22-25, 12-25. "We came out strong and put together several nice offensive series," said Head Coach Wes Brothers. "In the second set, we left the door open for Free Will and they took advantage and never looked back.
Lady Trailblazers lost 3 home matches to the Crown College and UC-Clermont on Saturday and to defending MidEast Regional Champion Kentucky Christian on Tuesday. Saturday, OCU lost their leading attacker to an ankle sprain that occurred during the UC-Clermont match. "Our freshmen are getting great experience against high level opponents," said Head Coach Wes Brothers.
Lady Trailblazers dropped their first match of the season to the Evangels of Johnson Bible College 19-25, 19-25, 21-25. "Tonight, our youth showed through," said Head Coach Wes Brothers. "JBC's aggressiveness was too much for us tonight as we were one step behind.
Marissa Tackett, a 2006 graduate of Chillicothe High School, is currently ranked 1st in Kill Average per set in the NCCAA II Division. Two weeks into the season, Marissa has tallied an average of 4.33 kills per set. Tackett has led 7th ranked Ohio Christian University to a record of 2-0 with 39 kills and 7 blocks.
The Ohio Christian University Women's Volleyball team tallied their second win of the season against OSU-Mansfield with scores of 25-17, 13-25, 25-17, 13-25, 15-6. "There were several bright spots in tonight's match," said Head Coach Wes Brothers. "The team is playing more as one unit on the court, reading offensive attacks and getting quicker on transitions.
Lady Trailblazers defeated the Warriors of Appalachian Bible College 20-25, 25-13, 28-26, 25-18. "Playing the Warriors on the road is always a challenge," said Head Coach Wes Brothers. "The team showed improvement over the course of the match, however, we will need to focus on reducing our unforced errors." The third set saw the Trailblazers down at one point 20-23.
