Blazers beat Ohio University Lancaster 75-59

OCU lost both battles last season to the Bobcats of OU-Lancaster but this year proved to be a different story. OCU used a very aggressive defense to hold the Bobcats to just 21 points in the first half. The Blazers went on to win the 75-59 despite having some foul trouble and a suffering from a poor shooting night. OCU was led by Rob Lassiter who scored 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the contest. Dan Garnett made a big contribution for OCU as he scored 19 points and grabbed 7 boards. Adam Polley was once again a force in the middle for the Blazers with 14 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Turhan Jackson came off of the bench to swipe 6 steals.

"We didn't execute very well tonight but still came away with a win," Said Coach Jamey Batten. "We need to value our possessions a little more and get higher percentage looks on offense. Defensively we controlled the pace of the game and that it what helped us come out one top tonight. We had 18 steals as a team and that speaks highly of the defensive effort made by our guys tonight."
