Volleyball team goes 1-2 in Trailblazer Classic

Over the weekend, the Lady Trailblazers hosted the Trailblazer Classic. They faced Great Lakes Christian College on Friday night and lost in four games. Marlaina Shotsky and Jordan Kline combined for 38 kills in the loss. Whitney Pontius posted 40 assists, and Richelle Stewart led the team in digs with 19.

On Saturday, the Lady Trailblazers defeated Dayspring Bible College in three straight games. Dayspring was tough defensively, but OCU's solid hitting was too much for them. Brittany Martin led the offensive attack with 15 kills, and Jordan Kline contributed 12 kills and 9 blocks. Ohio Christian faced OSU-Newark in the final match of the Classic. OSU-Newark's aggressive offense proved to be too much for OCU, as the Trailblazers lost in three games. Marlaina Shotsky finished with 12 kills, and Richelle Stewart served up five aces.

OCU is now 14-12 overall and 8-4 in the NCCAA Mid-East region. They will play at OU-Lancaster on Tuesday night in their only match this week.
