Lady Blazers Battled Wright State-Lake and OSU-Newark Over the WeekendThe Lady Trailblazers had two games this weekend. On Friday, they lost 63-65 in a tough battle at Wright State-Lake. OCU was plagued by foul trouble for the entire game, but was still able to keep the game within reach in the final minutes. Jordan Kline led the Lady Blazers with 21 points and seven rebounds before she fouled out with under a minute remaining. Freshman Brittany Martin added 20 points and 7 assists, while Angela Hawk contributed 14 points and 6 assists. On Saturday, Ohio Christian hosted OSU-Newark. After a slow start, the Lady Trailblazers were down 7-28 at one point in the first half. OCU rallied behind Angela Hawk's 17 first half points to cut the lead to only ten by halftime (25-35). The Trailblazers came out strong in the second half and started to make a run before Angela injured her knee and could not return. The rest of the team rallied, but the Titans' full court pressure proved to be too much for the Lady Blazers. Brittany Martin finished the game with 14 points, while senior Jordan Kline added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Head Coach Mandy Wray said, "We are continuing to improve each game. The girls showed a lot of heart through various adversities over the weekend. I am very proud of the way they continued to play and never quit. We are going to keep working and improving and hopefully come up with a win on Tuesday." |
