OCU Men's Soccer Win in Last Minute

Mid-East Region Heavy Weight Battle
On Friday night in Knoxville, Tennessee, the Mid-East Regional Tournament Champions in '08 played the Regional Regular season champs in '08. The battle was well worth the price of admission. Johnson Bible College came out early on Ohio Christian and scored in the 7th minute to put OCU on their heals. 16 minutes later Johnson double their tally with another goal sending the OCU men into doubt of this game, but in the 27th minute Dave Blamo was fed by Emanuel Harris and put a blazing shot past the Johnson goalkeeper. Johnson was un-phased and in the 36th minute made the score 3-1 keeping a 2 goal differential from the men of Circleville. "There was no panic at half time. We just went about our business, fixed our problems and got ready to play out the game", remarked Coach Murton.
The second half told another story. In the 53rd minute Blamo was fed again by Harris the breathed life back into the OCU men making the score 2-3. Six minutes later in the 59th minute Harris tallied one for the Trailblazers by shooting one off the back of one the JBC Defenders and now the game was even at 3. With 53 seconds left in the game, Emanuel Harris was fed the ball on the left flank where he was triple teamed. Dave Blamo ran through a game and Harris found him again. Blamo the worked his magic by shouldering off JBC's center defender and blasting a low shot into the right corner of JBC's goal. Pandemonium came after on the OCU bench as the taste of a come from behind victory was in hand. JBC had one more look at the goal but the OCU defense thwarted their attempt and the traveling fans of OCU flooded the field to celebrate with their victors! "This was a great game for these men. We grew up today as men and as a team. We fought back never losing site on what we wanted to accomplish. I am very proud of what they have done here tonight" explained Coach Murton.
The win places OCU at a 7-2-0 record and 4-0-0 in the Mid-East Region. Crown College was due next, but it was rained out due to the field being flooded. Next up for the men is OCAC rival Southern State this Tuesday at 5PM.
