OCU Signs Dual Sport Athlete from Northridge to Play Softball and Basketball
The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers have signed Northridge High School's Lindsay Rose as a dual sport athlete. Beginning with the 2009-2010 basketball season Lindsay will be playing basketball for the Trailblazers. In her senior year at Northridge Lindsay played 331 minutes with a .250 field goal average, a .250 average from beyond the 3-point arch, averaged 72% from the charity stripe and contributed 2 offensive rebounds. Defensively she accounted for 24 rebounds and 13 assists, 14 steals, and 33 deflections.
"Lindsay will add depth for us at the guard spot. She is a very hard worker, and I look forward to seeing her continue to improve and develop next season," says Head Women's Basketball Coach Mandy Wray.
When Lindsay finishes her first season on the hardwood for the Trailblazers she'll be heading to the softball field. Lindsay will strengthen the middle infield for the Trailblazer softball team and will add additional consistency to the batting order.
"From what I have both seen and heard, Lindsay is very strong defensively at second base. She has good range, a good arm, sound discipline, and a lot of hustle. Offensively Lindsay rarely strikes out at the plate but has ability to consistently put the ball in play. When she gets on base she has good speed, and is a smart, aggressive base runner. I really look forward to having Lindsay as a part of our program," says Emory Clark, head softball coach.
