OCU Women Score First Goal in History

The OCU women stepped onto the pitch on Friday for the second time in school history.  What they didn't know is that they would be making history that night.  In the 11th minute, Sarah Peters took a free kick that ended up in the near post corner of the goal from about 23 yards out.  "What a first goal to have for this program!  That was a zinger she hit and it is historical" mentioned Coach Murton on OCU women's first goal in school history.  Johnson would tally one back to even out the score in the first half making the score 1-1.  After the 2nd half and two overtimes, The OCU women got their first result by gaining a point in the standings for the tie.  "These women fought hard.  They have dealt with a lot of adversity but they continue to be positive and strong.  We have a lot of things to improve on but our progress as a program is being sped up thanks to these women" mentioned Coach Murton.
The women travel to Cincinnati on Saturday to play Cincinnati State at a time to be determined.
