Ohio Christian Baseball Posts Third Win

The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers won its third game of the season in convincing fashion by defeating its NCCAA Mid-East Region opponents, The Freewill Bible Baptist Flames by the score of 10-0. The Trailblazers were again led by a stellar pitching performance by freshman, Steven Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, OH). Vogelgesang pitched a complete game two hit shutout and struck out seven. Trailblazer Head Coach, Bruce Crabtree said "Steven was quite effective again in pitching his way to his second win of the season. He continues to show strong leadership on the mound."

The Trailblazers jumped on the Flames for two runs in the first two innings then added six more runs in the a big third inning. The offense was led by junior second baseman Matt Bumpus (Centerburg, OH). Bumpus was 4 for 4 with four singles, two runs scored and two RBI's. Sophomore Captain, Michael Blevins (Laurel Springs, NC) and Junior Captain, Adam Peters (Litchfield, OH), both went 2 for 3, with two runs scored and 2 RBI's.

The Trailblazers play NCCAA Mid-East Region rival Cincinnati Christian University on April 22; Ohio University-Lancaster on April 23 and Ohio State-Newark on April 24.
