Kendra Blair, a 5'9 guard from Newark Catholic High School, signed this week to play basketball for the Lady Trailblazers next year. Blair, who received 1st Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Ohio this season, was a three year starter and two year captain for the Green Wave. Kendra averaged 17 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game in her senior campaign.
The NCCAA All MidEast Region Team was announced at the conclusion of the regional championship on Wednesday. Junior Michael Blevins was named the Player of the Year for the region which means an automatic birth on the All American Team for 2010.
The OCU Baseball Team added to the great OCU Athletic Season Wednesday with an 11-1 win over Freewill Baptist to capture the Mid East Regional Championship at Chillicothe's VA Stadium. The win sends the Blazers to the National Baseball Championships in Mason, Ohio May 12-15. Pitching and defense again led the Blazers with Michael Blevins pitching a complete game for the win.
