All-Ohio Senior Casey Zupi from Unioto HS Inks with OCU

CHILLICOTHE, OH - Head Coach Josh Murton is happy to announce the addition of Casey Zupi to the Trailblazers Men's Soccer program.  Zupi comes to Ohio Christian after a strong prep career at Unioto High School in Chillicothe where he played for Head Coach Gary Sallade.

Zupi was a senior captain for UHS and was a 4 year letterwinner during his high school career, earning team MVP honors during his junior and senior seasons.  Zupi fueled the Unioto offense as a senior, scoring 38 goals and dishing out 7 assists.

He was honored as Southeast District Player of the Year in 2012.  Zupi was also selected as two time All-Ohio honoree, being named 2nd Team All-Ohio as a junior and 1st Team All-Ohio as a senior.

"He is an intelligent player who reads the game as it comes to him while also being able to inspire his teammates to elevate their game," commented Coach Sallade.

"He has an exceptional work ethic during practices and games and demanded the same from his fellow players.  He is that special kind of player that can give you quality minutes anywhere on the pitch and not lose a step during the game."

"Casey has played for a well established coach here in Ohio and he will bring that experience to OCU which we are very pleased about," remarked Coach Murton.  "The big thing about Casey that stood out for us is that he wanted to come to a program where he wasn't given a spot. He wants to come out and fight for his spot. He's a competitor."

Zupi joins an OCU program that has reached the NCCAA National Tournament each of the past 4 seasons.  The Trailblazers are still seeking their first ever NCCAA National Title.
