Blazers Drop Two on Kentucky Road Trip, Woodson Scores 30 vs Midway

LEXINGTON, KY - The Lady Blazers came back empty handed after a two game road trip in Kentucky against NAIA affiliates Midway College and Asbury University.

OCU had a great perfomance from freshman Asia Woodson on Friday night against Midway College.  Woodson scored a game high 30 points as OCU gave Midway all they could handle heading into the last 5 minutes of the game.  OCU led 55-54 with 4:55 remaining but Midway would close the game on a 13-4 run to pull out the win 67-59.

On Saturday, OCU took on Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.  OCU stayed close early on but the host Eagles made a run to close the first half with a 50-35 lead.  Asbury pushed the pace in the 2nd half and went on to win 99-65.  OCU did get an amazing performance from senior guard Shelby Roe who scored a team high 25 points in the loss.

OCU is back in action on Tuesday when they take on OSU Newark at 6:00 PM.  The Blazers (5-7) are looking to break a 5 game losing streak.
