Fairfield County Star Signs with Lady Blazers

Head Coach Mandy Wray signed another local All-State player this week.  Amy Jo Bishop, a guard from Fairfield Christian High School, will play for the Lady Trailblazers this season.  Bishop averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5 steals per game in her senior campaign.  Her team was 34-0 in the MOCAL conference in three years.  Amy Jo was 1st Team All-Mocal, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Fairfield County, 1st Team Columbus Dispatch, and Special Mention All-Ohio.

Coach Wray said, "Amy Jo is a natural scorer and a great shooter.  She also has a passion for and understanding of the game.  We are very excited to have her join a very strong recruiting class and expect big things from Amy Jo this year."

Bishop joins the Lady Trailblazers coming off their most successful season in the history of the women's basketball program.  The OCU women finished the season with a record of 26-6, including an undefeated 13-0 at home.  The Lady Blazers qualified for the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time, and finished as the National Runner-up, losing the championship game by two points.
