Lady Blazers Extinguish The Flames in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, TN - The OCU women's basketball team rebounded from a heartbreaking overtime loss at OSU Newark on Tuesday night with a blowout win over the Lady Flames of Freewill Baptist over the weekend.  The Flames got out to a quick start and led the game 11-10 in the opening minutes of the contest.  The OCU full court pressure eventually broke  through and shifted the momentum as host Freewill couldn't keep the pace.  OCU went on a big run in the first half to take a 20 point lead.  The 2nd half proved to be all OCU as the Blazers kept up the fast pace on their way to a 102-46 victory.

The Blazers went deep in their rotation as they had five players score in double digits while every player scored in the game.  Chelsea Black led the charge with 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting.  Kara Zwick was big in the paint with 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting.  Dannyel Butte tossed in 11 points while grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.  Sharonda Jones and Amy Jo Bishop rounded out the scoring with 10 points each.

Ohio Christian (11-9) will next take on the defending NCCAA Champions on Tuesday night at 6:00PM when Kentucky Christian University comes to town in a game with national seeding implications.  KCU, a Mid-East Region rival, comes into the game with a an 18-0 record on the season is ranked #1 in the NCCAA National Poll.
