Lady Blazers Get Tripped Up in NCCAA Quarterfinals by Trinity Baptist 63-56

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The 5th ranked Trailblazers fell victim to a poor shooting night on Thursday evening as OCU came up short to 4th ranked Trinity Baptist College from Florida by a score of 63-56.
The first half was a closesly contested matchup. The first 20 minutes proved to be a defensive struggle on both ends of the floor. With neither team finding their shooting touch, OCU was able to go into halftime with a 28-27 advantage.
The OCU shooting woes continued into the second half. Trinity was able to make a run and gain momentum and slip ahead in the closing minutes in what proved to be a very physical game.
Ohio Christian won the battle of the boards 49-43. OCU shot a dismal 19 of 79 from the field for 24.1%. The Blazers also went 4 of 29 from three point range for 13.8%.
The Blazers were led by Kara Zwick who went 7 of 15 from the field for 16 points. Asia Woodson also tossed in 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Senior Shebly Roe added 11 points for OCU. Freshman Olivia Davis grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.
OCU will now face 8th seeded North Central University at 2:00 PM on Friday in the consolation bracket. North Central lost to top seeded Maranatha Baptist on Thursday by a score of 84-45.
