Lady Blazers Win Big and Advance to 12-1

The Ohio Christian University women's basketball team came out Monday night focused and ready for their last game before they break for the holidays.  The Lady Blazers full court pressure defense proved to be too much for the Tracers from OU-Zanesville, as OCU jumped out to a 62-26 halftime lead.  It was more of the same in the second half, with the Lady Blazers defeating the Tracers 105-43.  Freshman guard Shelby Roe led all scorers with 27 points, including five 3 pointers, and 3 steals.  Senior All-American guard Brenda Carter added 25 points, on 11/12 shooting from the field, including 3/3 from behind the arc.  Carter also dished out 7 assists.  Freshman guard Dannyel Butte led the defensive attack with 7 steals, and also chipped in 12 points.  Junior forward Danielle Fleming added 20 points, on 8/12 shooting, as well as 6 rebounds and 6 steals.  Sarah Peters, a junior forward, pulled down a team high 10 rebounds.
The Lady Blazers, 12-1 overall and ranked 3rd in the NCCAA National poll, will return to action after the holidays on Monday, January 4th when they travel to OSU-Mansfield.
