Lady Blazers Win on Senior Day Behind 29 Points from Kara Zwick

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Lady Trailblazers celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 76-52 win over visiting Johnson University. OCU overcame a competitive Johnson squad in the first half which saw them leading 38-31 going into halftime. The Blazers ran away with the game in the second half to win in a blowout.
Seniors Kara Zwick, Shelby Roe, and Chelsea Black went out in style as the trio led the Trailblazer offense with a combined 52 points. Kara Zwick scored a season high 29 points on 12 of 16 shooting. Chelsea Black tossed in 14 points while shooting 4 of 7 from three point range. Shelby Roe added 9 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
OCU won the battle of the board 43-22. The OCU defense forced 24 Johnson University turnovers while swiping 16 steals.
The Blazers will now prepare for the Mid-East Regional Tournament. The Blazers are the #2 seed and will take on Johnson University in the Regional Semifinal at 6:00 PM on Friday night. The winner of that game will take on Kentucky Christian University in the Regional Championship on Saturday.
