Lady Trailblazers Sign Pickerington Guard Jazmin Smith

The Lady Trailblazers signed Jazmin Smith, a 2009 Pickerington Central High School grad, to play basketball next season.  Jazmin will bring athleticism and speed to OCU's backcourt, which is a perfect fit for the Lady Blazers' fast-paced style of play.

Head Coach Mandy Wray said, "Jazmin will fit our style of play really well.  We like to press for forty minutes and run transition as much as possible.    She has had a couple years off from playing organized basketball, but she is very excited to get back in the mix and play again. I look forward to seeing her contribute this year and help us achieve our goal of winning a National Championship."

Smith joins the Lady Blazers coming off their best season in school history, finishing the season with a 26-6 record, including an undefeated 13-0 at home.  Ohio Christian won the OCAC (Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference) Championship and qualified for the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time in school history.  The Lady Blazers finished as the National Runner-up, losing in the National Championship game by two points.
