Multi-Sport Standout Meghan Caldwell Signs with Trailblazers

CROWN CITY, OH - Three sport sensation Meghan Caldwell is officially an OCU Trailblazer.  Caldwell signed her letter of intent this week during a special ceremony at South Gallia High School.  She was a three sport star at SGHS, competing in volleyball, basketball and softball.

Caldwell excelled in the trio of sports as a senior as she managed to take home All-District honors in all three sports.

On the basketball court, she led the Rebels to a Sectional Championship in 2013.  Caldwell led the team in scoring, assists, and steals.  She was named All Tri-Valley Conference in addition to be named All-District for her spectacular season.

As a volleyball player, she took home All-Conference and All-District honors as she helped her team to a Sectional Title in 2012.  She led her team in blocks, kills, and hitting percentage.  Megan leaves South Gallia with school records of 400 blocks and 800 kills.

On the softball diamond, Meghan was named the Defensive Player of the Year.  She once again took home All-Tri Valley Conference honors in addition to being named All-District.

Caldwell joins two NCCAA powerhouse programs at OCU.  Under the direction of Head Coach Dave Hopewell, OCU Volleyball claimed their first ever Mid-East Region Championship in 2012.  Coach Mandy Wray has led  Women's Basketball to four straight National Tournament Appearances dating back to 2010.
