OCU Knocks Off Ohio State University Newark 86-59

NEWARK, OH - Ohio Christian made the short trip to OSU-Newark on Tuesday night and ended a five game skid with a blowout 86-59 win over the host Titans.

The Blazers used a strong first half effort to jump out in front early.  OCU pushed the lead to as many as 16 points in the first half and eventually went into halftime with a commanding 37-23 advantage.

OCU would go on to coast the rest of the way as the pushed the lead to 30 points and closed out the game with a 86-59 victory.  

The Blazers were led by senior guard Shelby Roe who tossed in 18 points.  Asia Woodson had a great performance with 14 points.  Olivia Davis played big in the paint as she tossed in 13 points.  Kara Zwick returned to action following an injury and hit double digits with 10 points.

OCU will wrap up their first semester on Thursday when they close out with Valor Christian College at 6:00 PM.  All proceeds from the game will go to the women's basketball team for their mission trip to the Dominican Republic.  Fans can get into the game free with a donated basketball related item for a Dominican Republic child.
