OCU Signs City League Scoring Champion Asia Woodson

TOLEDO, OH - Head Coach Mandy Wray is happy to announce the addition of Asia Woodson to the women's basketball program.  Asia comes to OCU after a sensational prep career at Bowsher High School in Northwest Ohio.

Woodson was a 3rd Team All-District selection as a junior while scoring 17.3 points per game, to lead all City-League scorers.  Woodson also dished out 6.0 assists per game her junior season.  As a team captain in her junior year she was also selected to the All-City League 2nd Team.

Woodson has lit up the scoreboard as a senior team captain for Bowsher.  For the 2nd consecutive year she has led the City League in scoring, tossing in a career best 21.0 points per contest.  For her spectacular performance she has been honored as a 1st Team All-Conference selection and has also been named 2nd Team-All District.  Asia has been a strong student in addition to her accolades on the hardwood, being named to the honor roll the past two years.

"We are very excited to sign Asia," said Coach Wray.  "She is a perfect fit to our team, and will bring athleticism, speed, and the ability to score in a variety of ways, as well as create scoring opportunities for those around her. We are really looking forward to having her in a Trailblazer uniform!"

Woodson joins a talented OCU squad that is working on a string of three straight trips to the National Tournament and currently sits as the #4 ranked team in the NCCAA National Poll.
