Roe's 17 Points Lead OCU Past Johnson University

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Lady Blazers jumped out to a dominating 43-3 lead in the opening half in what proved to be a blowout victory over visiting Johnson University.  Johnson struggled from the field in the opening frame as they shot 1 of 22 from the field for 4.5%.  The Blazers responded by shooting 17 of 41 from the field to build their 40 point lead.

The second half saw a resurgent Johnson University squad that would go 5 of 18 from the field in an improved shooting performance.  The OCU lead was too big and the Blazers went on to win handily, 75-16.

OCU was paced by junior guard, Shelby Roe, who tossed in a game high 17 points on 7 of 13 shooting.  Gretchen Meyer was the only other player in double figures as she tallied 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting.  OCU went deep the bench as all 12 players saw action and 11 different players scored in the contest.  

The Blazers had 22 assists and 6 turnovers in the game compared to 2 assists and 33 turnovers for Johnson.  Ohio Christian is back in action on Tuesday night when they host OCAC rival UC-Clermont.  Clermont won the first matchup of the season 81-71 in Batavia, Ohio.
