All-District Forward Katelyn Danner Joins OCU Soccer

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Ohio Christian University Head Coach Josh Murton is happy to announce the addition of Katelyn Danner to the women's soccer program.  Danner signed a letter of intent last Friday on the OCU campus with her mother and father in attendance.  Danner was a star forward at Waynesville High School where she played under head coach Dick Miller.

Danner was a standout performer during her four years at Waynesville.  As a freshman, she helped lead the Spartans to a District Championship.  During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Katelyn solidified herself as one of the top players in the area, racking up the 2nd most goals in the state of Ohio with 36.  She also finished 14th in Ohio in assists.  For her remarkable performances she was honored as a 1st Team All-Southwestern Buckeye League selection.  Danner was also voted as a 1st Team All-District honoree.

"I chose OCU because the team is very close and keeps their focus on growing in Christ," said Danner.

Katelyn was also a standout perfomer on the basketball court and softball field for Waynesville.  She took home Edward Jones Player of the Month honors in December after scoring 37 points in a game against Preble Shawnee.  As a softball player she was honorable mention All-SWBL.  She played three sports while also maintaining a 3.4 GPA in the classroom.

Danner joins an up and coming OCU soccer program that is pursuing their first ever Mid-East Region Championship.
