Late Rally Not Enough in 4-2 Loss to OMW
CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Ohio Christian outplayed Ohio Mid-Western for 84 minutes on Thursday night, and outscored the Rams 2-1 during that stretch. It wouldn't be enough though as the host Trailblazers surrendered 3 goals during a 6 minute stretch in the first half.
The Rams scored all three of their first half goals during a 6 minute stretch in the first half. OMW went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. The Trailblazers rallied back with a pair of goals in the second half. Kaitlyn Howard scored her first goal of the season as she found the back of the net in the 2nd half. The Blazers also scored when Aubri Paugh booted her first goal of the season. Katelyn Danner added an assist to round out the OCU offensive effort.
"We digged ourselved a big hole today and fought to get out," said OCU Head Coach Josh Murton. "Hopefully we can learn from this and avoid playing from behind. I was proud of that fact that we did get focused and worked hard to get back in the game. We can build on that."
OCU is back in action on Saturday when they host Mid-East Region rival, Johnson University from Knoxville, Tennessee. The game is set to start at 11:00 AM.
