Two-Sport Sensation Leandra Griffin Joins OCU Softball and Soccer

MOGADORE, OH - Two-sport star Leandra Griffin is the latest addition to OCU Soccer and Softball.  Leandra put her name on the dotted line this week is a special signing ceremony at Field High School.

As senior on the FHS Soccer Team, she started all 18 games.  She tallied 75 saves including 5 shutouts, 2 of which were in the playoffs.  Her goal against average was a very impressive 1.22.

She was named 2nd Team All-Conference and was voted the Defensive Player of the Year following her strong senior season.

A four year letterwinner, she was also named the schools most athletic female.  Deservingly so since she was also a force on the softball diamond as well.

Griffin was a slugger at the plate, batting .429 in her senior year.  She connected on 33 hits, 2 home runs, and had a team high 31 RBI's.  Her .701 slugging percentage also led her team.  Her combined slugging percentage and on base percentage (OPS) was a very impressive 1.207 on the year.

On the mound she was also stellar, posting an 8-1 record as a pitcher.  Her 67 strikeouts in 57.1 innings helped lead her team to a 22-4 regular season record and a 2013 Metro Division Championship.  Her ERA of 1.06 was also the best on the team.

Griffin joins Softball and Soccer programs at OCU that are both quickly on the rise.  Both teams will be in pursuit of their first ever Mid-East Region Championships this Fall and Spring.
