Mahalia (Hali) Burleson Signs for 2010 Volleyball Season

Hali Burleson, daughter of Jay and Sue Burleson, has signed with Ohio Christian University to play volleyball.  Hali was coached by Valerie Westfall at Ohio Valley Christian School in Gallipolis, Ohio.  Hali's team has gone to State both her junior and senior year. She also played club for SEOVC for four years. She comes with several awards and recognitions under her belt for blocking, hitting, and passing.

She received the 200 points award three times and the Offensive Player Award. She is actively involved in her community through Hospice, Relay for Life, Health Rocks which is a drug prevention program, and Volley for the Cure. She is an outstanding leader on the court by being Team Captain for both volleyball and basketball and also off the court by being 4-H Treasurer.

"We are truly excited to have Hali join us," says Ohio Christian University's head volleyball coach, Wes Brother. "She has the potential to play all the way around and is a great young lady. Hali will bring a solid work ethic and good mental composure to the Lady Trailblazers' team and will fit in wonderfully with the rest of the team."
