OCU Inks Tallmadge High School Standout Katy Helmuth

TALLMADGE, OH - Ohio Christian University volleyball coach Dave Hopewell has signed Katy Helmuth from Tallmadege High School.  Helmuth has a played a key role for Tallmadge over the last 3 seasons,  while playing under the direction of coach Geoff Wagner.

Helmuth is an outside hitter that enjoyed great prep career at Tallmadge.  She was a three year letter winner for the Blue Devils in volleyball.  In her senior year she was awarded the "Athlete of the Week" award.  She played a key role in her team reaching the sectional championship match in October of 2011.  Helmuth is a gifted outside hitter that will be a big contributor for OCU over the next four years.

"Katy is a great fit for our program," said head coach Dave Hopewell.  "She is a strong outside hitter and she will help us take our program to another level as we look to compete for a Regional Championship.  Beyond her athletic skills, she is a quality young person that comes from a great family.  This is a great addition for our campus family and I couldn't be happier about where our program is headed."
