OCU Sweeps Tri-Match with Crown and Appalachian

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU women's volleyball program hosted an NCCAA Mid-East region tri-match over the weekend and came away with two big region wins.  Appalachian Bible College and Crown College both took part in the tri-match in the Maxwell Leadership Center where postseason seeding implications where at stake for all three teams.

In the first match, OCU took on Appalachian Bible College from Bexley, West Virginia.  The Trailblazers came out on fire and stole the momentum early as they won game 1 by a score of 25-15.  Appalachian would storm back in game 2 but OCU hung on for a 26-24 win.  Game 3 proved to be another nailbiter as both teams battled to the wire, with OCU pulling out a 26-24 win to complete the 3-0 sweep.

In the second match, the Trailblazers faced perennial region power, Crown College from Powell, Tennessee.  The Blazers took it to Crown in three closely contested games, winning by scores of 25-21 in game 1, 25-19 in game 2, and 25-23 in game 3.  The win over Crown gave OCU a 6-0 sweep on the day.

With the pair of wins, OCU moves to 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in regional play.  The Trailblazers are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on defending regional champion, Kentucky Christian University at home for a 6:00PM match.
