Volleyball Caps off Historic Season in Florida

KISSIMMEE, FLA - The OCU women's volleyball team capped of a memorable postseason run this week with a solid showing at the NCCAA National Tournament.

OCU started their historic run by winning the regional championship in a 5 set victory over defending champion Kentucky Christian Universitytwo weeks ago.  The landmark win propelled the Blazers to the National Tournament in Florida.

The Blazers then made history once again as they picked up their first NCCAA National Tournament victory in a 4 set victory over West Coast Baptist College.  OCU battled close with other opponents throughout the week, winning sets against some of the top teams in Division II.

The 2012 season will go down as one of historic proportion.  The volleyball team won the first women's regional championship in school history.  The Lady Blazers followed that up with the first ever National Tournament appearance.  The win over West Coast Baptist was the first National Tournament match victory in the history of the OCU women's volleyball program.

Coach Hopewell and the ladies have accomplished so much this year.  The future is very bright for OCU volleyball.
