Volleyball Sweeps Clark State To Move to 7-3
SPRINGFIELD, OH - The OCU Volleyball Team overpowed host Clark State on Tuesday night, winning the match in three straight games. The Trailblazers move to 7-3 on the season with the victory.
Mary Ashbaucher tallied a game high 30 assists in the match to lead OCU. OCU had 5 different players with at least 5 kills in the contest. Meredith Fairrow tallied 5 kills in the win. Danielle Wipert, Abby Ashbaucher, and Rachel Briggs each had 7 kills. Olivia Davis led OCU with 8 kills while also leading the defense with 4 blocks and 4 block assists.
The Trailblazers won the first game 25-19 as Clark State kept it fairly close. OCU ran away with the 2nd game 25-13 to take a 2-0 lead. The Blazers finished off the Eagles in game 3, coming away with another 25-19 win to take the match 3-0.
The Blazers will now prepare to face defending regional champions when they take on Kentucky Christian University next Tuesday. The game will be played in Grayson, Kentucky and it is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
