Middle School Mania Recap
On April 12th, around 100 middle school students made their way to Ohio Christian University to attend Middle School Mania, a fun event designed for 6th-8th grade students.
This year's theme was "Fearless Survivor" based on 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." It was a fun-filled day designed to encourage and challenge middle school students to face their fears by trusting in the Lord and relying on others.
They were introduced to OCU students and staff while taking part in powership worship time, engaging with captivating speakers and embarking on exciting activities including "Tribal Challenges" led by the OCU Camp Teams and staff from Camp Marengo.
The worship was led by the Circleville Naz Frontline Worship Band, all made up of OCU alumni. The speakers were Aaron Duvall, Lead Pastor at University Church and Director of Spiritual Formation at OCU and Rick Cooper, the voice of the OCU Basketball broadcasts and a sports broadcasting and youth ministry veteran. Lunch was provided by Chick-Fil-A of Grove City.
"My teens really loved MSM. They wouldn't stop talking about the fun, games, friends and worship. I truly believe they may have seen God in a fun way. For a Youth Pastor, it's awesome because we can go to an event that the teens love and actually relax and enjoy it." - Rick Cessna, Youth Director for Grace United Methodist Chuch in Gallipolis
"The students we brought had a wonderful time. They really enjoyed the speakers and worship music." - Tina Anderson, Volunteer for Rose Avenue Community Center in Washington Court House
