OCU Students Spend Summer Ministering through Camp Teams
Over the summer, 39 Ohio Christian University students spent their time ministering to youth as part of the OCU Summer Camp Teams. They traveled to 32 camps across seven states to serve as camp counselors sharing God’s love with youth ranging from elementary to high school age.
"I have been incredibly blessed to be a part of summer camp teams. It was an honor to share my testimony, lead people to Christ, and pour God's love into many young adults. I could not think of a better way to spend my summer!" – Anna Bonk, OCU Sophomore and Early Childhood Education major
The camp team members were led by eight student team leaders and completed more than 40 hours of training to prepare for the summer ministry. Here are a few comments from some of the camps that hosted the OCU Summer Camp Teams:
"The team was great! They were very hard workers and lights of the Lord for your youth." - Maysville Wesleyan Youth Camp
"We appreciate your team and how they served our campers!" - Melyssa Trussel, Camp Marengo
Brett Wilson of Mt. Hope Bible Camp described them as having: "Enthusiasm, strong connection with campers, willing to follow camp's direction, and spiritual leadership."
