Lady Blazers Win Three More
The OCU women's basketball team earned three more wins this week and advanced its record to 21-4 overall, and 2-0 in the Mid-East Region. The Lady BLazers defeated Southern State Community College on Monday night 110-68, led by guards Danielle Fleming (19 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds) and Kaity Wyeth (17 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals). Freshmen forwards Gretchen Meyer and Kendra Blair also finished in double figures with 12 and 13 points, respectively.
On Tuesday, the OCU women defeated OSU-Mansfield 106-47. Wyeth led the Blazers again with 20 points on 8 of 10 shooting, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Fleming added 15 points and 5 steals, while Blair and Meyer were in double figures again with 13 and 12 points.
Friday, the Lady Blazers traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee to defeat Johnson Bible College 100-53. Fleming led the way for the Blazers with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Wyeth added 16, and freshman guard Brittany Rucker chipped in 12. Thirteen players scored for the Lady Trailblazers in the win.
OCU will face two tough OCAC (Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference) opponents this week. On Monday, they travel to Valor Christian College, and Wednesday host UC-Clermont. Then on Friday, the Lady Trailblazers will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Mid-East Region opponent Freewill Baptist Bible College.
