Lady Trailblazers Win Two in Cincinnati
The OCU women's basketball team traveled to Cincinnati Christian to play two NCCAA opponents last weekend. On Friday, they came out blazing, taking an early lead, and never looking back. The Lady Blazers had five players in double figures in a 101-79 win over Kuyper College. Senior Danielle Fleming led OCU with 15 points, while freshmen Kaity Wyeth added 14, Sharonda Jones had 12, and Chelsea Black chipped in 10 points. Sophomore guard Shelby Roe added 11 points as well.
On Saturday, the Lady Trailblazers faced Valley Forge Christian College. In their first meeting this season, OCU won by one point, but Saturday the Lady Blazers came out focused from the beginning. The full-court pressure defense and transition game proved to be too much for Valley Forge, as the Lady Blazers won by a score of 97-79. OCU was led by freshman guard Kaity Wyeth's hot shooting, as she finished the game with 25 points. Fleming added 16 points, and Roe chipped in 15.
With the wins, the Lady Blazers remained undefeated, and will face Valor Christian College on Monday in an Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up.
