OCU Volleyball Ends Regular Season with Win

The Ohio Christian University Women's Volleyball team completed its string of 5 matches in 5 days with a win and a 5 match record of 4-1. The Lady Trailblazers defeated the Patriots of Southern State Community College in 3 straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-9, 25-16.

Sophomore Linette Shetler led the offensive charge with a season high 11 kills with a 50% hitting percentage. Eight Trailblazers chipped in kills and ended the regular season with a 2010 record 13 kills per set. Freshman Ashley Southard tallied a season high 9 aces. Freshman Tiffany Mosher and Southard contributed 14 and 12 digs respectively.

"Our focus was tempo and we did a good job of this in the 2nd and 3rd set," commented Coach Brothers. "We made some mistakes that kept Southern State in the first set. I was really pleased with how the team responded in the 2nd and 3rd set achieving excellent hitting efficiency."

Ohio Christian Volleyball ends the regular season with an overall record of 12-15 and an OCAC conference record of 3-5.

Ohio Christian University Volleyball hosts the Ohio College Athletics Conference's 2010 OCAC Championship Tournament on Saturday, October 23rd with matches scheduled for 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm.
